Android Phones on EMI, Without the Worry

Selling Android phones on EMI is great for business until a customer stops paying. Loksiz Android MDM stays on the phone from the first boot to the last instalment, sends the reminders for you, and gives full access back the moment the customer pays.

WHAT IS ANDROID MDM?

MDM, Explained Without the Jargon

MDM stands for Mobile Device Management. Large companies use it to look after the phones they hand out to staff. They can push apps, set rules and lock a phone if it goes missing.

We use the same idea for device financing. When a phone is bought on EMI, Loksiz MDM is set up on it before it leaves the shop. From then on, the phone stays connected to its loan. Pay on time and the customer never notices it's there. Miss a payment and the phone politely reminds them, then asks them to pay before most apps open again.

  • Built on Android Enterprise, Google's own framework for managed phones, not a workaround.
  • It runs as device owner, so it can't be uninstalled, force-stopped or reset away.
  • It respects the customer, with no access to messages, photos or personal files.

ENROLLMENT

Three Ways to Get a Phone Enrolled

Pick whichever suits how you sell. Most of our partners use more than one.

QR code at the counter

During first setup, the retailer taps the welcome screen a few times and scans a Loksiz QR code. It only takes a couple of minutes, and the phone is protected before the customer leaves the shop.

Zero-touch enrollment

On supported phones bought through a zero-touch reseller, the phone enrolls itself over the internet the first time it's switched on. No QR codes and no extra steps at the counter.

OEM native locking

On itel, Infinix and TECNO, locking lives in the phone's firmware, below the app layer. It's the hardest kind of lock to get around, and nothing extra needs to be installed.

FEATURES

What You Can Do With Every Financed Android Phone

Lock and unlock remotely

Restrict or restore a phone from your dashboard, your own system through our API, or the retailer app.

Factory reset protection

Factory reset and safe mode are blocked for the loan term, so the lock can't simply be wiped off.

App control

Choose which apps stay open during a restriction, or keep the phone to a short list of approved apps.

Works when the phone is offline

Commands wait in a queue and run the moment the phone is back online, so nothing gets missed.

Pay from the lock screen

The restriction screen shows exactly what's due, with a link to pay there and then.

Push your own app

Install your payment or lender app on every financed phone, without asking customers to search the Play Store.

MDM VS A LOCK APP

Why a Simple Lock App Isn't Enough

Plenty of EMI lockers are just apps sitting on the phone. They work fine until a customer works out how to uninstall one, boot into safe mode or reset the phone. Videos showing how to do it are only a search away.

Loksiz runs as the device owner, which Android treats very differently from a normal app. It's there for the full loan term, and it only leaves when the last EMI is paid.

  • Can't be uninstalled or force-stopped by the customer.
  • Survives resets, because factory reset stays blocked until the loan closes.
  • Keeps working offline, with commands that wait for the next connection.
  • Stays fair, with calls, SMS and SOS always available, in line with RBI's directions.

A MISSED EMI, STEP BY STEP

What the Customer Actually Sees

Nobody gets locked out without warning. Here's how a typical overdue account plays out. You set the exact days.

01

A friendly reminder

A few days before the EMI date, the phone shows a notification with the amount and the due date.

02

A firmer nudge

If the date passes, an on-screen message appears each time the phone is unlocked, with a link to pay.

03

Restricted, not dead

If it's still unpaid after your grace period, most apps are restricted. Calls, SMS and SOS keep working.

04

Paid and back to normal

The moment the payment lands, the phone is unlocked. No call to the shop, no waiting.

OEM NATIVE LOCKING

Built Into itel, Infinix and TECNO Phones

We're the global partner for native, OEM-level locking on itel, Infinix and TECNO. The lock lives in the phone's firmware rather than in an app, so it's ready the day the phone leaves the factory and much harder to get around. If you finance these brands in volume, this is the strongest protection available.

Questions People Usually Ask Us

If yours isn't here, just ask. We're happy to talk it through.

MDM, or Mobile Device Management, lets the lender look after the phone remotely for as long as the loan runs. With Loksiz that means sending reminders, restricting the phone when an EMI stays unpaid, and giving full access back the moment the customer pays. It doesn't read messages, photos or other personal data.

An ordinary app can be uninstalled, force-stopped or wiped with a factory reset. Loksiz is set as the device owner when the phone is first set up, so the customer can't remove it and factory reset stays blocked until the loan is closed.

The quickest way is at the counter: the retailer scans a Loksiz QR code during first setup and the phone is managed before the customer walks out. Zero-touch enrollment works on supported phones, and itel, Infinix and TECNO phones can come with native locking built in.

Most Android phones people buy on EMI, including Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo and realme, plus native OEM-level locking on itel, Infinix and TECNO. Share the models you sell and we'll confirm each one during the demo.

Yes. Calls, SMS and emergency SOS keep working, and the customer can always open the payment screen. Only the other apps are restricted until the dues are cleared.

The command waits in a queue and runs as soon as the phone reconnects to the internet. The same goes for unlocks, so nobody stays restricted after paying.

Loksiz releases the phone. Restrictions are removed, the device owner role is handed back, and the phone becomes a normal phone that belongs fully to the customer.
